Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) has never been discredited either by the American Psychological Association or by the American Psychiatric Association. While the name “Parental Alienation Syndrome” is not mentioned in the diagnostic manual, the DSM, the more accurate statement is that PAS has not yet been included by name. But its description is included within several diagnoses in the new DSM 5 published in 2013.
